Karen Fairclough
(Practice Manager)
Dr David Fairclough and Karen Fairclough (Husband and Wife team) have worked together in the Macedon Ranges for 26 years. Dr Fairclough originally trained in the UK as a sports and manipulative therapist and carried out further education in Australia at Victoria University where he completed a five year double degree in Osteopathy and completed a post graduate diploma in Animal Biomechanical Medicine in Box Hill. Dr Lois Groves graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 1988. She worked in two busy osteopathic clinics in London before moving to Australia in 1990. She gained further experience as a locum and associate working in several osteopathic and multi-disciplinary practices in the SE suburbs of Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula, prior to opening her own osteopathy practice in Berwick. By the time she sold it 25 years later, it had grown into a large well-respected clinic employing six osteopaths, a psychologist and three reception staff.
She moved to Gisborne in 2013 and joined the team here at Gisborne Osteopathy.
Lois enjoys treating all age groups, from babies to the elderly. We all have different needs at different stages of our lives and it’s this variety that she likes. She is enthusiastic about helping her patients achieve their health goals, whilst being realistic about their individual circumstances.
Lois has a structural approach, using soft tissue massage, joint articulation and manipulation among other manual therapy techniques, and exercise prescription, which she keeps simple to assist with patient compliance.
Lois has a special interest in neck problems and headaches, the management of lumbar and cervical disc injuries, overuse injuries such as tennis elbow and musculoskeletal problems in expect and post-partum mothers.
She has lived in the Macedon Ranges since 2013 with her physiotherapist husband (who also works locally), an adult daughter and teenage son.
Lois enjoys walking, gardening, being a part of the local community, attends church in New Gisborne, and is a volunteer foster carer and puppy raiser for Seeing Eye Dogs, a division of Vision Australia.

Dr Matthew Ellis (Osteopath)
Dr. Matthew Ellis completed his qualifications in Melbourne at Victoria University, with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Health Science (Osteopathy).
Matthew is enthusiastic about educating and empowering patients to return to their optimal health/function physically and mentally. He enjoys setting achievable goals with his patients giving them the tools to help manage their pain outside the treatment room. He has a strong knowledge base and experience of a wide range of musculoskeletal condition, utilising best-practice evidence to help inform individualised treatment approaches for his patients.
Treatment itself will be based on a variety of hands-on osteopathic techniques. Some of these may include; soft tissue massage, trigger point release, stretching, cupping, dry needling, joint mobilisations and manipulations. These will aim to provide symptomatic and therefore improvements in range of motion and function. Matthew will then formulate an individualised management plan that aligns with the patient’s goals and presenting complaint.
When Matthew is not in the clinic, he is either on the basketball court in the gym or taking his dog on lots of walks. He also enjoys spending time with his partner and friends, enjoying the outdoors.
Dr. Jasmine Sheridan (Osteopath)
Jaz completed her Bachelor of Science/Master of Health Science (Osteopathy) at Victoria University, where she gained extensive clinical experience treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. Her research explored how experienced osteopaths assess and manage persistent neck pain, strengthening her commitment to evidence-informed, patient-centred care.
Jaz has a passion for movement and Pilates, and enjoys helping people understand their bodies and move with greater confidence. She believes treatment should be tailored to each individual, combining hands-on osteopathic care with exercise and education to help patients manage pain, improve movement and support long-term health.
She has a particular interest in treating neck and back pain, headaches, jaw pain and movement-related conditions. As a Sports Trainer with the East Sunbury Football Club, Jaz also enjoys working with active individuals and helping people return to the activities they love. She has completed additional training in myofascial needling and cupping to complement her osteopathic treatment.
Jaz values building genuine relationships with her patients and creating a welcoming environment where they feel heard and supported throughout their care. Outside the clinic, she enjoys Pilates, strength training, spending time with family and friends, and getting outdoors with her dogs.
Dr. Daniel Giusti (Osteopath)
Daniel is a registered osteopath who completed his Bachelor of Science (Osteopathy) and Master of Health Science (Osteopathy) at Victoria University.
His interest in osteopathy developed through his own experiences receiving treatment, his lifelong involvement in sport and a desire to work in a hands-on healthcare profession. Seeing how much manual therapy helped his father further inspired Daniel to pursue a career where he could help others better understand their bodies, manage pain and return to the activities that are important to them.
Alongside his osteopathic training, Daniel is a qualified Level 1 Sports Trainer and has worked with local footballers at Hillside and East Sunbury Football Clubs. He has experience managing injuries from onset through to rehabilitation and return to play, and has completed additional training in Level 1 Myofascial Needling, Cupping and concussion management.
Having played football for Keilor and Taylors Lakes, basketball throughout his life and trained regularly in the gym for more than a decade, Daniel understands how important movement and sport can be to a person’s health and identity.
Outside the clinic, Daniel enjoys playing basketball, travelling, spending time outdoors and being around his dogs. He also values the social and community aspect of his work with East Sunbury Football Club. For Daniel, the most rewarding part of osteopathy is seeing people improve and helping them build the confidence and tools to look after themselves beyond the treatment room.
